The Cova Tallada is an excavated cave bathed by the crystalline waters of the Mediterranean. This cave can be found at the foot of the Cape of Sant Antoni Marine Reserve. It is a natural cave carved by man, since in the 12th-14th centuries, the stone used for the construction of emblematic buildings such as the Denia Castle, the church and other buildings.

Cala Cova Tallada: How to get there
The Cova Tallada does not have a cove as such, as it is an artificially excavated grotto of about 400 metres. We can see how the cova is on one side above sea level and the other half below sea level. It is in this area that you can snorkel and enjoy the marine fauna and flora of the area.
This is why you should know that the cave does not have a beach as such or a cove, but as it is at sea level, you can leave the cave and go swimming or snorkelling in the area.
Tips to follow to go to the Cova Tallada Cove
The route to reach the Cova Tallada Cove is very beautiful, although due to a couple of sections with some danger due to landslides, it is advisable to wear suitable footwear, comfortable clothes and water. This is a mountain route, so you have to be prepared, especially in the summer season.
Nevertheless, this route is well worth the effort, as the Cova Tallada is one of the most impressive places on the Costa Blanca. They are one of those places that your brain never forgets. In fact, this is why it has become so popular in recent years. For this reason, access has been regulated for some years now, in order to avoid overcrowding and preserve this unique site.
Fauna and flora of the Cova Tallada Cove
The Cova Tallada cove is located in the Marine Reserve of Sant Antoni, this area is a marine reserve known by all diving and snorkelling lovers. This is an area where the Mediterranean Sea gives you real underwater gems.
Furthermore, access to this area of the Cova Tallada has been regulated for some years for any type of motor boat (jet skis, motorboats, boats, etc. ….), which is why it is an area where you can find crystal clear waters, very similar to exotic areas such as the Caribbean, as there are no motor boats at anchor.
Accommodation near the Cova Tallada Cove
The Cova Tallada cove is located in the heart of the Montgó Natural Park, which is why we cannot find accommodation at the foot of the cave, but we can find it in areas of Denia or Jávea (towns adjacent to the cova tallada) for kayak paddling.
